HISTORY OF BSAT
The Buyabod School of Arts and Trades was formally established on July 16, 1998 at Sitio Crossing, Barangay Buyabod, Sta. Cruz, Marinduque under Republic Act 8713 thru the combined efforts of the political leaders of the province of Marinduque. Their vision is to develop young Marinduqueños to become globally competitive workforce with knowledge and skills that are highly adaptable to the emerging technology.
At the start of its operation in the year 2000, the school offered only two courses under the two-year certificate program. These were Electrical and Automotive Technology. Years later, several other courses were introduced to respond to the growing demands of the local and foreign industries for various skilled workers and technicians.
When TESDA mandated all TESDA Technology Institutions (TTIs) to implement the Competency –Based Curriculum (CBC) in the year 2006, the Competency-Based Training approach (CBT) had become the methodology in the delivery of training in BSAT. Under CBT, training duration across Qualifications became shorter but was more focused on the development of trainees ’competence.
With its continuing effort to upgrade its Qualifications, BSAT enabled itself to keep abreast with the emerging trends in the labor market and it had significantly increased employability among its graduates. Its” big picture goal” is to become the Center of Excellence in various technical fields with in the next two years and to put a high standard of quality in the delivery of its service thus becoming accredited with the prestigious Asia Pacific Accreditation and Certification Commission (APPAC).
This is where this institution directs its current efforts of improving its records management system as well as its physical facilities.
